In 2014 I met Jared Sharp, he was in his final year of veterinary school and I was in my final year of undergrad at Oregon State University - that spring we both graduated and headed into the next stage of life, together.Jared went on to take on an Internship opportunity at Idaho Equine Hospital, and I went back to work for Western Ag - after a year of living apart, Jaredās internship came to an end, and together we moved to Mansfield, Texas where Jared took a job at Animal Imaging where he became one of the best in the business in equine imaging.
This opportunity and role is what I believe taught him so much about diagnosing and evaluating these equine athletes, because he was truly able to correlate lameness to the inner workings of these equine athletes bodies. From the soft tissue to bone - he was able to compare those findings, to how the horse jogged and flexed, which I believe is what makes him so incredibly good at his job! He saw thousands of bone scans, MRIās and CT cases in horsesā¦and worked with some of the most elite veterinarians and vet clinics in the industry, from Outlaw Equine, Tanner Equine, ESMS and so many more. Through this role he developed great relationships with each and every referring veterinarian! They came to Animal Imaging and Jared for further diagnostics and treatment plans. Many of which he still has wonderful professional relationships with today, working together to help mutual clients accomplish a more sound horse!
After two years in this role, Jared was offered the chance to become a partner at Idaho Equine Hospitalā¦. As they saw the type of veterinarian he was and had become. The last 8 years at Idaho Equine he has developed incredible relationships with some of the industryās greatest horsemen and women - in this role he truly became one of the best in the business when it came to sports medicine and lameness. Alongside him, I have watched him help horses have a second chance at their careers, I have watched him MAKE THINGS HAPPEN. And I havenāt met a single person that outworks him, or better yet, cares as much as he does.
